The winner of Eurodance 2010 is the First Elementary School of Xylofagou – Cyprus with 164 points!!!!

A huge 'thank you' to everyone who participated in this project. All of the dances were fantastic and we hope you enjoyed the experience. We plan to be back for Eurodance 2011 next year!

George I will be in touch to arrange delivery of the trophy to Cyprus and all schools will receive their certificates for participating shortly.

"Han Isperih" Primary School - Bulgaria

This is a late competition entry from "Han Isperih" Primary School - Bulgaria. Schools that have already voted in the competition can email their scores for this dance to Alan and I will add them to the final totals.

We are a school from 1 to 12 class. We live in a small town, 70 km from the sea and 5 km from the first Bulgarian capital Pliska. We are happy that we had the opportunity to participate in that success project. Greetings all from sunny Bulgaria.

Eurodance 2010 Trophy!

Hello dancing Europe,
We are really thankful for this project and for friendly comments (which were under the first video from our school :):))
We have decided to input you the same video because of better video quality.
Some teachers and students were involved in this project,we have worked as a team and here's the result.
Although it's still so cold outside in Lithuania, we are dreaming about our summer holidays :) Dancing, good mood, new ideas, being together shortens the time :)

We have finally managed to publish our videos after some problems that we managed to solve. Many of you present a few dances in one video, and your videos are fabulous. We didn't manage to join all our videos together, so we present three separate ones but each is quite short. I hope it's OK. Hello! I'm Roberta and I'm in the class 1h. I have been very happy to take part in this adventure,because I think that nothing unites more than music, dance and culture. These three universal values are at the basis of this project, that represents an exciting way to feel united beyond ideological, religious and rational barriers. With eTwinning something magic happened before us: we saw a moltitude of friends of ours, ready to know about us and to let us know all the details about them. In a word, with eTwinning our classrooms have widened, as if by magic, until they have touched and linked with the ones in all the European schools that have joined this project.

We are very happy to show you a little part of our culture. To do that, we have dug in our traditions to learn what "Tarantella" represented for Naples in the last centuries and how it was danced. At the end, with all the material and the support of all our teachers, we have realized this video. Besides the dance, here is our love, the joy to communicate and the certainty we have had a unique and unforgettable experience!

"Carrasquinha" - dance from Jardim de Infância de S. Miguel de Paredes - Portugal

"Carrasquinha" is a folk dance, calm ring dance with delicated gestures that the girls like a lot. As it said "dance the grandparents in all of the pilgrimages".
Is a ring dance of XIX century. It was dancing in the terraces on Sundays in the afternoon where girls and boys met together.

Plymouth Grove Primary School - England

This is the competition entry from Plymouth Grove Primary School - England.

Eurodance2010,Spetalen,Norway.

Here is the Norwegian entry. We danced at Tomb, an old estate close to our school. Today it serves as an agricultural school. We really enjoyed practising for the dance, and watching the videos from all our partner schools as they kept comming on the blog.
Our first dance is a traditional Norwegian song dance, called "Lasse går i ringen". The dancers tease the person in the circle, because he has no partner. The second dance is an old folk dance, called "Rugen". We whish you all the best of luck, and hope you enjoy our film. Tomorrow we will celebrate the 17th of May in Norway. We will dress up in our national costumes and there will be parades all over Norway, since this is our Constitution Day. We will post some pictures and information about this on the blog later this week. Hope you will celebrate with us, by watching our beautiful pupils all dressed up, just for you!

Competition Entry for Larbert Village Primary School - Scotland

Hello! Here is our competition entry for Eurodance 2010. Our dance is a traditional Scottish Country Dance called the Dashing White Sergeant. We have really enjoyed practising and filming our dance. The girls are wearing white dresses with tartan sashes and the boys are wearing tartan sashes. Tartan is our traditional dress. We hope you enjoy our dance!

Hallglen Primary School - Scotland

This is the competition entry from Hallglen Primary School, Scotland.

Our dance is a traditional Scottish Country Dance called "Strip the Willow." You will see the dance peformed twice by different groups of our Primary 7 pupils.

The boys wore blue and the girls wore white. (The colours of the Scottish flag) We tried to create this at the beginning of our dance!

We had lots of fun practising and learning this dance and we hope that you enjoy it.

Hello! It's beautiful in Poland. Everything in bloom. But a little rainy. But let's talk about our Polish dance Polonaise, performed by our students. Fryderyk Chopin, a Polish composer, loved composing polonaises, they expressed his serious mood and love to Poland while he was living in Paris in the 19th century.The video presents our student Klara playing Chopin's polonaise. Klara has already taken part in 4 international piano contests, even in Paris. The piece of music is very long, but try to watch it at least for a minute and remember the name of Chopin, our famous composer.Greetings from Daleszyce, Poland!!!
